The Proverbs 31 Woman: Strength and Dignity in Catholic Tradition

The Douay-Rheims reads 'Strength and beauty are her clothing, and she shall laugh in the latter day' (Proverbs xxxi. 25). The valiant woman of Proverbs 31 — the traditional Catholic ideal: industrious, God-fearing, devoted to her household and the poor, whose true worth is the fear of the Lord.
